Tetra Tech is seeking an environmental scientist to provide operations and maintenance of a groundwater treatment plant, including trouble-shooting and system optimization. Perform environmental sampling and other support tasks, as required during environmental investigations and remediation activities, such as inventory, maintenance, repair, and calibration of field equipment and supplies. Conduct computer data entry of operations data, water level data, laboratory data, and providing other technical assistance, as assigned. Must be able to oversee various subcontractors activities.
15 years experience of demonstrated working with environmental remediation system operations and maintenance, groundwater monitoring protocols, and ability to manage subcontractors. Must have a good understanding of water chemistry parameters and experienced in using Microsoft Excel and Word. Must have good communication (oral and writing) skill. Strong oral communication skills with proven ability to communicate effectively with clients and staff. Must have a mechanical aptitude and ability to problem-solve individually. Must be able to pass a background check as well as drive a motor vehicle and pass a motor vehicle records check and be willing to work in a rigorous field environment. B.S. in environmental science or related field. A Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator License in State of Pennsylvania is preferred. A 40-hour HAZWOPER training is required. A confined space entry certificate is desired. Must be able to lift 40 pounds and work in an outdoor environment.
