Fort Point Associates, (www.fpa-inc.com ), a Tetra Tech Company, is currently seeking an entry level Environmental Planner to support a wide range of private development, institutional and public sector projects, including climate change and sustainable development issues. Join a top-notch team of planners in a friendly, flexible and collaborative downtown work environment. This full-time position, located at 31 State Street, Boston MA, is easily accessible from all major transit lines including North Station and South Station.

Responsibilities :

  • Organizational support for project team and public meetings, including developing schedules, sending notifications, drafting agendas, and taking and distributing notes and preparing permit documents
  • Research and documentation for planning initiatives and development project permitting
  • Drafting text for planning initiatives and permitting documents
  • Conducting research and drafting text, maps, and graphics for planning and permitting documents
  • Attendance at and logistical coordination for community meetings, including preparation of presentation materials
  • General administrative support, including editing and formatting of documents, maintaining and ordering office supplies

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree in Planning, Environmental Science or related field with demonstrated GIS training or coursework
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience or Masters degree in related field
  • Strong technical writing, organizational, and oral communication skills required
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) or other graphic programs required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and ArcGIS and or AutoCAD highly desirable
  • Knowledge of and interest in project scheduling and project tracking systems software highly desirable
  • Familiarity with real estate planning and development including urban, waterfront, or institutional developments
  • Some knowledge of public processes associated with municipal planning and development review initiatives
