SCS Engineers is seeking a high-performing entry-level geologist, engineer, or environmental professional reporting through our Jacksonville Florida office to help grow our environmental consulting practice into a world-class provider of sustainability-focused services in the southeast U.S. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner and self-motivated, eager to learn, embraces teamwork, and has the desire to grow and develop professionally. The successful candidate will be involved in field activities including opportunities to perform analyses, prepare reports for clients, and interact directly with clients to develop project opportunities. The successful candidate will also have growth opportunity within the organization along with the business growth. Ok with a remote employee located on the East Coast of Florida between Jacksonville and Melbourne.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Collect, organize, and evaluate field and laboratory data from projects
Plan and perform field data collection and sampling activities.
Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments
Coordinating and performing fieldwork.
Problem-solving and identifying solutions to address or prevent environmental impairments
Multi-media sampling (soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, air).
Compliance monitoring, permitting, document preparation and proposals.
Analyzing and interpreting environmental data and preparing reports.
Preparing work plans, sampling and analysis plans, feasibility studies, and remedial action plans.
Coordinating with staff, contractors, laboratories, and regulators
Evaluate current systems and design innovative ways to improve or replace the existing systems or processes
Research and recommend sustainable solutions for environmental aspects of customers’ business
Position requires out of town travel
Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field required
Training/certifications preferred (e.g., GIT/EIT/Asbestos Inspector)
1 to 3 years of environmental experience required
Microsoft Office experience including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Experience with field instrumentation preferred
HAZWOPER training preferred
Valid driver's license with driving record in good standing required
Strong written and verbal communication, organizational and interpersonal skills; and the ability to work independently and with others; along with the ability to work on multiple simultaneous projects with successful time management is desirable
