The self-motivated, outgoing Program Coordinator will assist the Water Rangers Program Director in the buildout and design of the Water Rangers program, which provides research, education, and advocacy opportunities around water quality and water monitoring issues to communities being impacted by industrial livestock facilities. The Coordinator will work closely with communities, assisting them in dealing with water pollution from factory farms, and helping to make SRAP’s Water Rangers program’s presence known to groups, coalitions, and ally organizations. The Coordinator will identify and participate in advocacy and organizing opportunities with a specific focus on reaching and supporting diverse communities dealing with water pollution issues due to nearby industrial livestock facilities. Computer Skills: The incumbent must work in a computerized environment and have adequate knowledge of word processing, email, database, Internet and spreadsheet software; in particular have proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with WordPress and email marketing services, a plus.
Education: Bachelor’s degree, preferred, as well as at least two years of experience working in program design and/or development, community organizing, and/or social or environmental justice issues. Knowledge of socially responsible food and agriculture systems, as well as knowledge of the impacts of industrial agriculture, a plus.
Compensation: Salary of $48,000 to $52,000, dependent upon experience. Benefits include fully covered health, vision, dental and life insurance, as well as a 403b retirement plan and generous paid time off.
Location: Remote position with some evenings, weekends, and travel expected.
