The Wastewater Division is looking to hire a Wastewater Operations Manager to join their Management Team. The person in this position is responsible for managing, directing, and coordinating the operations, activities, and functions of the City of Eugene Public Works Department, Wastewater Division. It is responsible for managing employees that comprise three operational and technical focused teams: the Wastewater Treatment Operations Team, the Biosolids Management Team, and the Environmental Services Team. Oversees and performs a variety of professional and technical duties in support of wastewater treatment and environmental compliance programs. Is responsible for assisting the Division Director in the day-to-day management and administration of the Wastewater Treatment Plant and the Biosolids Management Facility. Provides highly complex professional and administration support to the Metropolitan Wastewater Management Commission, Public Works Department, and Executive Directors.

A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
EXPEREINCE
Five years of recent, relevant experience to achieve knowledge, skills, and
experience, preferable in the public sector, directly related to managing the
operations of a major wastewater utility, including at least four years of
supervisory experience.
EDUCATION
Bachelors or Associates degree from an accredited college or university in
wastewater treatment, civil engineering, construction technology, business or
public administration, or a closely related field.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATES
Possession of, or ability to obtain, and maintain an appropriate, valid Oregon
driver’s license.
Possession of a valid Oregon DEQ Grade IV Wastewater System Operator Certificate (Treatment) or ability to readily obtain through reciprocity preferred.
