NEIWPCC is seeking a part-time Human Resources Intern to support talent acquisition projects, as well as other employee-related initiatives. This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic intern to work within an environmental non-profit’s human resources division, with the goal of supporting our staff in their work and attracting new personnel dedicated to advancing clean water in the Northeast.
The HR intern will primarily assist with NEIWPCC’s recruitment, hiring, and onboarding projects. It is the goal for this position to lead relationship building initiatives with key scientific educational institutions and refine recruitment strategies and accounts. The intern will also assist with targeted recruitment support for NEIWPCC’s major summer hiring season. This position may also provide support to other HR-related functions including training, employee engagement, and data management.
The successful candidate will have at least 2-3 years towards a bachelor’s degree in human resources, social services, business management, communications, or related field. They will also have an existing interest in environmental issues or a willingness to learn. Confidence with building relationships and presenting information in a public setting is required. Fluency with Microsoft Office Suite, video conferencing platforms, and managing online accounts and profiles is essential. Candidates with alternative qualifications will be considered if an aptitude for success and a strong willingness to learn is apparent. COVID-19 vaccination required.
This part-time position is based in NEIWPCC’s headquarters office, located at 650 Suffolk Street, Lowell, MA 01854. Duties will be performed in an office setting, telework is not permitted. The potential to travel exists. This position is anticipated to work 15-20 hours per week, to begin late February 2023 and to extend through May 2023, with flexibility.
