Title: Restoration Project Advisor
Reports To: Program Manager
Hourly Rate Range: $26 – $30/hour commensurate with experience; 30-40 hours/week; Contractual, February 2023 through February 2024 with the potential to extend.
Position Description : Chesapeake Conservancy seeks a Project Advisor to support our growing programming to accelerate farmland restoration in Pennsylvania. The Project Advisor will be responsible for collaborating with on-the-ground partners to complete project design, secure partner and landowner agreements, follow procurement guidelines, and ensure compliance with organizational and federal and state policies and procedures. Partner organizations will have the main responsibility of completing landowner outreach, identifying projects and completing the restoration projects. The Project Advisor will fill in gaps as needed as a technical liaison to partners. Work will include tracking deadlines for deliverables and funding, managing reimbursement and invoicing, and completing financial and narrative reports as required by funders. This position will provide essential project coordination leadership to ensure partner needs are met and successfully cultivate a growing partnership of local and regional nonprofits, engineering and contracting firms, and county, state, and federal government agencies. The Project Advisor will be co-located with a partner organization at their office in Selinsgrove, PA, along with other Chesapeake Conservancy staff.

In Pennsylvania, Chesapeake Conservancy provides backbone support & builds capacity for a partnership of over 40 restoration organizations as part of a coordinated effort to accelerate water quality and habitat improvements.

Location : This is a hybrid position. The successful candidate will report 1-2 days per week to the Center for Environmental Education and Research at Chesapeake Conservancy’s partner organization, Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania. This position requires site visits throughout central Pennsylvania, primarily in the counties of Centre, Huntingdon, Union, and Lycoming with the potential to expand throughout the region. Anticipated travel 1 day per week. Travel expenses will be reimbursed. The applicant must possess a valid driver’s license in good standing and have access to reliable transportation.
