POSITION SUMMARY

The International Program Senior Manager is responsible for implementation of and advising on The Climate Reality Project’s team strategy and general operations. This position will support the execution of programs, relationships with Climate Reality’s 10 regional branches, and grants on behalf of the organization. This position will also support strategic visioning to build cohesiveness across branch programs and provide an operational structure for over 25,000 Climate Reality Leaders across the world. This position will report to the Director of International Programs and will be responsible for managing the team’s progress towards objectives, key results, and theories of change, as well as serving as a resource for the team’s execution of cohesive and sustainable global programs to build public support in addressing the climate crisis.

The Climate Reality Project’s international branch program supports and coordinates 10 branch offices and one partnership globally as they engage Climate Reality Leaders in their country/region and implement their own programs, projects, and campaigns. Branches are hosted in countries and regions that have held Climate Reality Leadership Corps Training events in order to establish and maintain localized support for Climate Reality Leaders in the area. They establish programs and campaigns for making impact and generating positive change with Climate Reality Leader involvement, including communications, policy, grassroots mobilization, education, and more.

Currently reporting to the International Program Director, the International Program Senior Manager has two direct reports.

The salary for the role is $92,395 annually.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

General

  • Work with the Director to build a strategic vision for the organization’s global growth and structure of international branch system.
  • Advise implementation of global programs, including but not limited to Climate Reality Leadership Corps Trainings and 24 Hours of Reality.
  • Guide branch grant strategies toward outputs that align with Climate Reality’s international goals.
  • With other team members, research and recommend branch office growth strategies.
  • Manage and support growth of a small staff of professionals with who lead on operations and evaluation, global climate policy, and diversity and justice initiatives. This includes advocating for the International Team internally, building an environment of trust, and committing to an openness to support development of programs.
  • Identify new models for measuring success and supervise their transition into concrete reporting metrics.
  • Develop tools that clearly display progress towards goals and relevant data/information necessary to achieve those goals.
  • Identify potential funders and develop details of funding proposals with branch staff.
  • Work effectively across teams within the organization to help provide greater global support and amplification for our Climate Reality Leaders.

  • Manage workload for International Team interns as applicable.

  • Travel domestically and internationally as needed to support international branch programs and overall operations.

  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Experience in a cross-cultural environment including working knowledge of environmental justice in different cultures
  • Leadership experience in global climate change campaigns including communications/media, budgeting, and movement build
  • Experience working on diverse international campaigns that include cohesive narratives and building of global communities.
  • A demonstrated understanding of climate change policy and geopolitics.
  • Additional language proficiency, particularly Portuguese or Japanese.
  • Fundraising and/or grant administration experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail .
  • Ability to speak publicly and represent The Climate Reality Project while abroad.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM systems.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer required

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (preferred) in related field.
  • International experience working across cultures with diverse stakeholders.
  • Has 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrable volunteer and/or full-time employee management experience
  • Demonstrated global thinking and delivery of international program outcomes
