Description

The City of Sunnyvale is recruiting for two Environmental Engineering Coordinator positions for the Environmental Services Department. The department provides comprehensive and innovative utility services for Sunnyvale's residents and businesses and facilitates initiatives to achieve the City's sustainability objectives. The department brings together technical, operational, and administrative professional disciplines to form its dedicated and dynamic team.

For the Regulatory Programs Division , we are seeking a highly motivated, organized, and creative individual with strong quantitative and analytical skills, impeccable written and verbal communication skills, and a solid understanding of environmental science and policies to help support our Water Pollution Control Plant’s smooth transition through exciting infrastructure changes and a dynamic regulatory setting. This position works with a diverse team of operations and maintenance staff, environmental consultants and contractors, and managers to ensure WPCP compliance with air and water quality regulations including the WPCP's National Pollution Discharge Elimination System Permit and Title V Air Permit requirements; reviews, analyzes, and interprets operational and monitoring data; and prepares technical memoranda and reports. The position also participates in technical support projects such as evaluating process and performance data and special studies of treatment technologies.

For the Solid Waste Division , we are seeking a highly motivated, organized, and creative individual with strong quantitative and analytical skills, experience in developing, promoting, and operating solid waste management, and air-quality improvement programs and to help support our Sunnyvale Material and Recovery Station (SMaRT Station®) post 2021 rebuild (NextGen) project. The Solid Waste Division provides oversight of the SMaRT station, which processes garbage and recyclable material collected from Sunnyvale and Mountain View residents and businesses.
