NEIWPCC is seeking a full-time Information Officer to assist with communications and publications tasks for the Lake Champlain Basin Program’s print and web-based communications platforms and education and outreach initiatives.
What You’ll Do
As a NEIWPCC Information Officer with the Lake Champlain Basin Program (LCBP),
you will maintain and update LCBP-hosted websites and other digital platforms
and will write and develop content for LCBP’s e-newsletter, blogs, website,
social media, press releases, and other communications channels and outreach
materials. You will maintain and update the LCBP’s Pics.io photograph and
creative asset catalog, and fulfill internal and external requests for photos,
maps, data, and other assets. You will also prepare content for a variety of
education and outreach meetings and conferences.
What You’ll Bring / Preferred Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a passion and interest in preserving and
advancing water quality. Ideally the candidate will have a degree in
environmental science, communications, marketing, or a related field;
knowledge of web maintenance and development, including WordPress or similar
web development/content management system; experience writing and producing
relevant and valuable content that informs, inspires, and involves audiences
in the restoration and protection of natural and cultural resources.
Experience in natural and cultural resource interpretation or environmental
education and knowledge of Lake Champlain or watershed issues that are
transferable to Lake Champlain is highly valued. Knowledge of Adobe Creative
Suite (including Illustrator and Photoshop), geographic information systems,
and ArcGIS StoryMaps is a plus. Candidates with alternative qualifications or
who have taken a less traditional career path may be considered if an aptitude
for success and a strong willingness to learn is clearly apparent.
Logistics
This full-time NEIWPCC position will work 8 hours per day and is based in
Grand Isle, VT. Duties will be performed largely in an office setting and will
require some travel, for which a valid driver’s license and private means of
transportation is required. Travel to Quebec may be requested, for which a
valid passport or enhanced license will be required. After six months of
employment, this position may be eligible for a partial telework schedule for
office-based duties, subject to approval and determined by program and office
needs. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination required.

Salary
Anticipated annual salary range is $50,000 to $65,000.
